In this series, inspired by figures from the Commedia dell'arte, religious sculptures of saints and madonnas, a narrative succession of images, that I liken to a gnostic mystic´s version of a catholic miracle, came to life. The theme loosely touches upon an intensely vivid dream I had about a fictional virgin by the name of Nuestra Señora de las Navajas (our lady of knives). I came to understand, through the creation of these images, that the dream was speaking to me of the birth of rational thought (symbol of sword), of Apollo, the Sun or the Conscious.
